Young CPAs: Nominations for AICPA Maximo Mukelabai Award

Article Post Date
February 21st 2012 by

Maximo Mukelabai AwardMaximo Mukelabai was a member of the inaugural class of the AICPA Leadership Academy. He became the youngest and first African-American chair for the North Carolina Association of CPAs‘ Board of Directors and was to become president of the organization. Tragically, Maximo’s life ended abruptly at the age of 36.

In tribute to Maximo’s legacy, the AICPA founded the Maximo Mukelabai Award recognizing a deserving CPA under the age of 40 who has made outstanding contributions toward building the CPA pipeline, serving as an advocate of the accounting profession and performing selfless service to the community.

Nominate a deserving CPA. The deadline is May 15, 2012.
